Port Hawkesbury,
located on the shores of the Strait of Canso
will provide another unique background as they
host the Tall Ships for the first stop in Cape
Breton. With strong ties to the sea in the
shipbuilding and fishing industries, residents
and visitors will be able to imagine how the
Strait of Canso might have looked 200 hundred
years ago as these majestic sailing vessels tie
up along the waterfront. It’s sure to look and
feel like a ceilidh! |
Ships from around the world will join many of Canada's finest sailing
vessels to form the largest international gathering of world-class Tall
Ships® in
North America in 2007. This
years Cape Breton festival is taking place - starting July 17 in
Louisbourg and Port Hawkesbury, and then continues on in Sydney until July
22 |
